Before the Year Ends has reached the midpoint of its story development. The first half now traces Fiona and Raymond’s changing relationship, moving beyond first impressions as moments of care, tension, and vulnerability deepen their connection. Reaching this turning point has helped clarify the emotional direction of the story and the pressures surrounding their one-year marriage. My next focus is developing the second half: following the consequences of what has been established, strengthening the characters’ choices, and building toward the end of their year together. The project remains in story development, with screenplay writing and film production still ahead.
A promise, a marriage, and a story taking shape
Before the Year Ends is now part of my developing screenplays. At its heart is a one-year marriage between Fiona Saint Clair and Raymond “King” King, brought together by her grandfather’s final wish. I have established the central characters, their backgrounds, and the key turning points that will shape their journey from distrust toward connection. The story brings together romance, family, loyalty, and danger, with the emotional relationship at its centre. I am sharing a working cover as an early visual direction for the story. My focus now is developing the full story and giving its characters and scenes room to grow before moving into screenplay writing and production.
